The Tension Holding You Back Can Be Managed

Imagine for a moment that you're riding the subway on your way home. The workday is over and the mounting pile of tasks in your office is growing. And yet there you stand in a crowded, smelly, noisy train and you are tension free--because your body is equipped by evolution and biology to handle stress and tension in productive ways. Does it feel like a fantasy? A fairy tale? Did your imagination close a dark curtain as you briefly entertained a tension-free work-day? You're not alone.

American Crisis

The APA has considered stress a public health crisis since 2010. A more recent 2019 survey found that "Prolonged or unremitting stress exacts a stunningly toxic toll on the body, brain, mind, and soul."

The good news is that as you sit here reading these words your body is longing to let go of the tension caused by stress. The grip that it has on your mind and body is like a tick sucking the life-blood out of you, day in and day out. Celebrity trainer and renowned body-transformation virtuoso Ngo Okafor at the boutique gym, Iconoclast, uses methods to tenderly and carefully remove the tension from your body in what I will describe as the most invigorating training session I have ever had in my life.

On the surface, it seems like an insurmountable mountain to climb. We maneuver through all manner of toxins as we engage our day. We Jump through hurdles like 9-5 distance runners to make our appointments, make others happy, and sometimes ignore our own wellbeing. Ngo's approach will lay the groundwork for letting go of tension in all of its manifestations as you progress through the training session and begin to transform your body.  The value in this is that it untangles the stiffness that keeps many from exercising.  Pain associated with stress may be the reason why staying active is feared in an age where it is most needed. Mr. Okafor, the founder of Iconoclast, has spent a lifetime managing these manifestations and can help you to overcome them as well.

There are zero shortages of fitness methods and package gym deals to sweep you off your feet these days. High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) has become a staple in the health-and-wellness field with a wide swath of professionals using it to keep clients slim. But though you may have been told that you can do HIIT on your own, having a mentor to steer you on an efficient path has advantages that could only boost your performance. Allow me to describe my experience training on HIIT with Ngo at Iconoclast fitness.
